About Us
We are a group of concerned landowners and environmental advocates in Bay and Washington counties who joined forces to fight a plan to pump millions of gallons of water a day from the Sand Hill Lakes area. We believe Bay County’s proposed well field would endanger pristine wetlands, so we formed the Coalition to Save Hill Lakes to protect that area’s ecosystems. Save our Sand Hill Lakes includes local organizations and individuals such as:
- Bay County Audubon Society
- Florida Audubon Society
- The Knight Family Trust
- Steve Siebert, former secretary of the Florida Department of Community Affairs and an affected landowner
- A growing list of concerned citizens
